MSAC Creativity Grant Awarded!!!

I'm pleased to announce that I've received a Maryland State Arts Council Creativity Grant to support the development of The Soul Science of Sound™: Beats.Verses.Brass, an original multimedia performance combining hip-hop lyricism, live brass instrumentation, storytelling, and visual art.

Drawing on material from Sojourners and ICONOCLAST, along with new compositions, this project represents the next phase of my work as an independent artist.

I'm grateful to the Maryland State Arts Council for supporting this creative endeavor.

"Iconoclast" Wins First Place

Songwriting honor

"Iconoclast," the title single from Shawn Bediako's six-track project, earned first place in the Hip-Hop/Rap category of the International Songwriting Competition. Co-written by Shawn Bediako and Sean Williams (a.k.a. Look Out World), the song was selected from nearly 13,000 entries submitted worldwide.
